"Go ye therefore and make disciples of all nations"

The mission of our church is to fulfill the "Great Commission." Simply stated the mission of the church is to bring people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. The church has many functions, to include worship, fellowship, ministry and stewardship, but our mission is what God gave us through His son Jesus Christ; "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age."

We are to lead people into accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and then disciple them so they can go out and evangelize others. We can worship God in heaven, we can fellowship and minister to the saints in heaven, and we can even continue to grow spiritually in heaven, but there is no need to evangelize in heaven. By then it is too late, either you have accepted God's offer of grace through Jesus or rejected Him. Evangelism is the one purpose we can only fulfill on this earth, and that is our primary mission.
