What happens during a Sunday morning gathering (church service?)
In total, Sunday services at the Fountain are about an hour in length. Our time together begins with an opening song, followed by a welcome from a pastor or a church member, then additional time worshipping by music. Song lyrics are projected onto a screen so that you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable. Our worship team features teenager's to seniors, contemporary worship and at least one classic hymn a week.
We celebrate what some call communion, or others call the "The Lord's Supper" every week. We serve a small cup of juice and a piece of broken unleavened bread to any Christian who desires to join us in remembering the death of Jesus in this special way. We usually do this at the end of the music portion of our service.
After we worship through singing praise, we then worship by hearing and learning from the Bible. Our pastor (or another speaker) will explain a Bible passage in its original context and identify lessons from the text that we can apply to our lives today. The Scripture passage used will be projected on the screen in the New American Standard Bible Translation, and there are copies of the same translation in the book racks on the back of seats. Additional images, including hi-resolution video may be used to illustrate points found in scripture. We typically teach through a book of the bible chapter by chapter, verse by verse, but do include topical messages from time to time.
We typically close with an older hymn or a singing of the Lord's prayer. After the service the pastor and others are available for prayer at the front of the church sanctuary.
What's the culture like at Fountain Christian Church?
You will find people present from multiple backgrounds and age groups. Average dress ranges from very casual and relaxed, to the occasional full suit. Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed.
We aren't a denominational church. You can learn more here, but it's worth pointing out, that on secondary issues, we can disagree and still worship together.
We love to learn. From Sunday messages to our small groups, we want to understand what the Bible teaches and how to live it out. If you don't catch everything the first time, that's play our pastor and teachers "set a full table" meaning there is some takeaway for everyone.
What about my Children?
We want children at the Fountain to have a have a blast AND fall in love with Jesus so we make both a priority.
Our check-in system is set up to make it easy and provide safety for your children. For first time visitors, you can sign up as a guest or register your child(ren) at our computer kiosk. You will receive a printed tag for your child(ren) as well as a security tag you will need to pick them up. Then take them to their classrooms. Don't know where to go? We have volunteers who are there just to show you the way. Once a family is in our computer, you can download the Church Center app and check your kids in before you even arrive. When you arrive, scan your QR code and grab your printed tags. It's that easy.
We currently provide 1 classroom for kids 4-10, a "cry room," for parents of babies who wish to watch the service. Our "Cry room" has sound with adjustable volume levels, separate access to the women's restroom (dads, the men's restroom is close by) and a large window to view the stage. We hope to provide additional classrooms in the future.
Our kids ministry is optional. If you would like your children to be with you in during service, you are welcome to do so. We understand that kids fuss and cry and that will not bother our pastor or worship team.
